Here you'll see a very different side of Fraserburgh from the parts you've visited. The Hexagon, and the streets around it, demonstrate the town's affluence in late Victorian times. This is where merchants and professional classes built their fine villas. And no less than a choice of three churches.

There's the West Church of Scotland, the Baptist Church and the United Free Church. Attending church regularly was part of the social calendar as well as an expression of faith.

In keeping with the ambience of this area, the great Scottish philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie, provided funds for building the library in 1904. It's worth going into this handsome building where you can see attractive local landscapes painted by Andrew Webster in the 1870s and 80s.
